Patterns, Interrupted.

You can narrate your patterns better than most therapists. You know why you shut down, why you over-function, why the same relationships keeps showing up wearing a different face.

But the knowing doesn’t seem to lead to change. Thats because the knowing has never been the problem.

The problem is that knowing has nowhere to land and nothing to do.

That’s where REC SPACE’s ‘Patterns, Interrupted’ Intensive comes in — a three-session experiential arc for people who are done with just knowing why they do what they do and are ready to do therapy a little differently.

The Problem:

You've read the books. Maybe you've done years of therapy. You could teach a class on your own attachment style. And still — under pressure, in the moment that matters, you do the same thing you always do.

That gap between what you know and what you do isn't a discipline problem. It isn't a "try harder" problem. It's an access problem: the insight lives in one part of your system, and the part running the show when you're triggered has never gotten the memo.

Weekly therapy, at fifty minutes a week, is often too shallow and too interrupted to close that gap. Not because it doesn't work — because some things need more room than an hour gives them.

Who this is for:

  • You're insight-rich and still stuck — you understand yourself and it hasn't been enough

  • You've done therapy, it helped, and something specific is still not moving

  • You want depth over duration: one concentrated container instead of another year of Tuesdays

  • You're ready to feel something shift, not just talk about shifting it

The Mechanism:

Real change happens when three things occur together, not in sequence:

  • Know — naming the pattern and the belief underneath it, in your own words

  • Feel — meeting it in the body, where it actually lives

  • Do — generating a new, embodied experience that contradicts the old one, in real time

None of these alone moves anything. Insight without feeling stays theoretical. Feeling without a new experience just re-confirms the old story. An intensive exists to hold all three in the same room, close enough together in time to actually fuse into something new.

Who this isn’t for:

This isn't crisis stabilization, and it isn't a replacement for ongoing care if that's what you need right now. It's real work, compressed and intensified — not shortened. If you're in acute crisis or don't currently have support outside of this container, let's talk about what's the right fit first.

How it works:

01 — Preparation Session (90 minutes) We map the terrain before we ever go in. Using two frameworks built for exactly this — SPACE and SPIRAL — we locate where your pattern actually lives (body, image, belief, behavior, or emotion) and the loop that keeps it running. No surprises walking into the deep work. You'll know what we're aiming at, and so will I.

02 — Process Session (2+ hours) This is the work itself. Imaginal parts work, held in the body, supported by Brainspotting or ART where it fits your system. We find out what the pattern has actually been trying to do for you — and give your system a real, felt alternative, not just a new thought about the old one.

03 — Integration Session (60 minutes, a few days later) We check what held. We build the bridge back into your actual life — the version of this that survives a bad Tuesday, not just the room. And we make sure this doesn't stay a nice thing that happened once.

It was never a lack of insight. It's a lack of access.

  • "Lauren took great care to hold a sturdy environment for self-exploration. Her presence held me in safety so I could feel what was once un-feelable. "

  • "I couldn't tell you how the changed happened, but I can tell you what changed. I genuinely no longer feel the paralyzing fear that used to grip me at work. I am confident and more efficient in a way I never thought possible. "
