Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy at REC SPACE is relational, somatic, and experiential. Therapy addresses emotional distress, developmental and relational trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions through the healing power of attuned relationship.
Sessions prioritize safety, regulation, and presence, recognizing that meaningful change occurs when the nervous system feels supported enough to reorganize. The body is included as a central source of information, helping clients notice how emotions, beliefs, and relational patterns are held somatically.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, therapy at REC SPACE supports clients in re-inhabiting themselves—developing greater emotional flexibility, relational capacity, and a more coherent sense of self over time.
Complementary & Support Therapy
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, focused intervention designed to support rapid relief from distress linked to a specific memory, image, or symptom. Typically completed in 2–5 sessions, ART uses eye movements and guided imagery to help the nervous system reprocess experiences without requiring detailed verbal recounting.
This approach is well-suited for trauma, intrusive memories, phobias, and persistent emotional or somatic reactions that feel “stuck.”
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-body therapeutic approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy by accessing the subcortical brain—the area where trauma and emotions are physically stored. Based on the principle that "where you look affects how you feel," this method uses your visual field to find "Brainspots" that trigger deep processing and self-healing. By bypassing the logical neocortex, Brainspotting allows you to reach the root of emotional distress and "unstick" traumatic memories that you can’t simply think your way through, leading to more efficient and lasting regulation.
Somatic Parts-Work is a container for exploring your internal system through body-based awareness, movement, and emotional expression. Sessions support curiosity toward protective patterns, suppressed emotions, and adaptive strategies—allowing parts to be felt, expressed, and integrated safely.
This intensive is ideal for clients seeking deeper self-understanding, increased embodiment, and more flexibility in how they relate to themselves and others.
I-CBT (Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a therapeutic process designed specifically for OCD and related conditions driven by chronic doubt, intrusive thoughts, and mental compulsions. Sessions are held once or twice weekly to support momentum, clarity, and integration.
All modalities can be explored as a stand-alone therapy or in conjunction with your primary therapy. Intensive pacing is available upon request & consultation.
